DAY 1: - ARRIVAL > PALERMO
Arrival at Palermo airport, transfer to hotel, free afternoon.
Day 2: - PALERMO > MONREALE
Breakfast, visit of Palermo, the capital of Sicily, a city rich in history and art. A walk in the heart of Palermo will give you the possibility to discover some jewels of the city: the Cathedral, St. John of the Hermits’ Church, the Norman Palace and its Palatine Chapel. In the afternoon we will visit Monreale to see the Cathedral and the adjoining Cloister. On the way back you can hike to Monte Pellegrino, where the Sanctuary of Saint Rosalia stands and where you can enjoy the view of the city and the bay, surrounded by wild and luxuriant vegetation.
Day 3 - ERICE > MARSALA
Breakfast, departure for Erice, a small and charming medieval town situated on the top of Saint Julian’s Mount. The Cathedral, with its magnificent bell tower of 1312, and the evocative streets of this characteristic medieval village are very important. The tour continues to Marsala, the town where Garibaldi landed with his Thousand. Before arriving to the city, a brief stop at one of the most important wineries in the area, where you will enjoy the "nectar of Bacchus", the valuable dessert wine from which the city got its name. The visit of the Salt Pans of Marsala, in the hour of sunset, where the windmills are mirrored in the salt basins, will be the most evocative moments of your trip to Sicily
DAY 4 - BAGHERIA > CEFALÙ
Breakfast and visit of the old town of Bagheria, a renowed international tourist centre famous for its baroque villas dating back to the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The most beautiful villas are Villa Palagonia, built in 1715 by the Prince of Gravina of Palagonia, and Villa Cattolica. The tour continues to Cefalù, a lovely seaside and tourist resort famous for its artistic and monumental treasures: the Norman Cathedral with its elegant Cloister dating back to the twelfth century, and the evocative Medieval Washtub entirely dug into the rock. Free time for shopping
DAY 5 - PALERMO > DEPARTURE
Breakfast, free time until transfer to airport to Palermo
