Breakfast, visit the Sicilian capital, one of the richest cities in history and art. A walk in the heart of Palermo will let you discover the city’s jewels: the Cathedral, the Church of San Giovanni degli Eremiti, the Norman Palace and its Palatine Chapel. In the afternoon, continue to Monreale to visit the Cathedral and the adjoining Cloister. On the way back, it is possible to visit Monte Pellegrino and the Sanctuary of Santa Rosalia, enjoying the view of the city and the gulf in a wild and lush nature.
Breakfast, departure to Erice, a small and fascinating medieval town on Mount San Giuliano. Notable is the Cathedral with its splendid 1312 bell tower and the atmospheric medieval streets. Continue to Marsala, the city of the Mille landing. Before arriving, stop at one of the main wineries to taste the “nectar of Bacchus”, the famous fortified wine. Experience the evocative Salt Pans at sunset, with windmills reflected in the salt basins, one of the most scenic moments of your Sicily trip.
Breakfast and visit Bagheria’s historic center, known for its Baroque villas from the 17th and 18th centuries, including Villa Palagonia (built in 1715 by Prince Gravina) and Villa Cattolica. Continue to Cefalù, a famous seaside town renowned for its artistic and monumental treasures: the Norman Cathedral, the elegant 12th-century cloister, and the Medieval Washhouse carved entirely into rock. Free time for shopping.
